Cookies & Local Storage

Only what helps Luminara work.

Effective: July 2, 2026
No advertising cookies.

Luminara does not currently use third-party advertising, cross-site behavioral tracking, or optional analytics cookies. Browser storage is used for sign-in, family/device connection, preferences, and core app state.

1. Technologies we use

Cookies are small browser records often used for authentication. Local storage persists information on a device until it is cleared. Session storage normally lasts for the browser tab or session. Indexed or provider-managed browser storage may also support Firebase authentication. These technologies are necessary to provide requested features.

2. Storage table

TechnologyPurposeTypical duration
Firebase authentication persistenceKeep a grown-up or connected device signed in securely.Until sign-out, account/session expiry, or browser data is cleared.
Luminara local storageStore family scope, paired-device state, app preferences, cached family data, setup state, and sync settings.Until unpaired, reset, removed by the app, or browser storage is cleared.
Luminara session storageRemember which child is using the current browser session and temporary UI choices.Normally until the tab or browser session closes.
Security and hosting dataDeliver pages, prevent abuse, and maintain reliable service.According to operational and provider retention requirements.

3. Your choices

You can sign out, disconnect a device, clear site data in browser settings, or use a private browsing session. Blocking necessary storage may prevent sign-in, device pairing, synchronization, or child profile access from working. Because Luminara does not currently use optional ad or analytics cookies, there is no separate cookie-consent panel.

A browser-level Global Privacy Control signal does not change our current practices because Luminara does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Guardian extension storage

Guardian uses Chrome extension storage for the grown-up’s allow-list, the associated family and child identifiers, extension status, and small daily activity summaries. Uninstalling Guardian or clearing its extension data removes those on-device records. Cloud copies already synchronized to Luminara must be deleted separately through a grown-up control or verified request.

5. Changes

If we introduce optional analytics, advertising, or another non-essential tracking technology, this notice and any consent controls will be updated before that technology is used where consent is required.
